About Us
Welcome to our school- Values and Ethos
As Headteacher, I am incredibly proud to lead a community where every child is
valued, nurtured and inspired to achieve their very best. At the heart of everything we do is our vision: “Learning that shapes lives – learners who shape the future.” This underpins our commitment to providing an education that not only supports academic success, but
also develops confident, thoughtful and ambitious young people who are ready to make a positive difference in the world.
We believe that a strong foundation for learning is built on clear values. Our school community is guided by being ready, respectful and resilient. We encourage our children to approach each day with a readiness to learn, to show respect for themselves, others and their environment, and to develop the resilience needed to overcome challenges and grow from every experience.
Our dedicated staff work hard to create a stimulating and supportive environment where curiosity is encouraged, achievements are celebrated and every child feels a sense of belonging. We value strong partnerships with parents and carers, recognising that working together is key to ensuring the very best outcomes for our children.
Choosing the right school for your child is an important decision, and we are delighted that you are considering joining our community. We warmly welcome visits to the school, where you can see first-hand the enthusiasm, kindness and commitment that make our school such a special place to learn and grow.
Background
Crofton Hammond Junior School is a welcoming, non-denominational community school, proudly maintained by Hampshire Children’s Services, where children aged 7 to 11 are supported to thrive both academically and personally. With around 250 pupils across eight classes, we are large enough to offer a wide range of opportunities, yet small enough to ensure every child is truly known, valued and supported.
Nestled in the heart of Stubbington, our school is part of a vibrant and friendly r
esidential community in Southern Hampshire, close to the Solent. We benefit from excellent links to Fareham, Gosport, Portsmouth and Southampton, making us easily accessible for families. We are also fortunate to share our site with Crofton Hammond Infant School, helping to create a smooth and familiar transition for many of our children.
Our school building offers a unique and flexible learning environment. Originally designed as a semi open-plan space, it has evolved to provide well-defined classrooms while still retaining a sense of openness and collaboration through shared learning areas and adaptable spaces. Our facilities include a multi-purpose hall for PE and events, a well-stocked library that fosters a love of reading, and specialist spaces such as our computer suite and music and drama room, where creativity and digital skills flourish.
Beyond the classroom, our extensive grounds are a real highlight. Children benefit from a large school field and a special conservation area, complete with a pond, which provides rich opportunities for outdoor learning, exploration and play.
At Crofton Hammond, we are proud of the environment we offer—one that supports curiosity, creativity and a genuine love of learning. We look forward to welcoming you and your child into our school community
