We actively promote health, wellbeing and resilience within our school and wider community. The Hammond Heart concept has been introduced across the Infant and Junior schools to empower our school and wider community to become architects of their own emotional health and wellbeing within an enabling environment.
In all areas across the schools we consider the 5 steps: connect, be active, take notice and be mindful, learn and give to others as recommend by the NHS 5 ways of wellbeing and Mind. We have adapted these ideas to form the word SMILE.
Socialise – connect
Move – be active
Interest – take notice and be mindful
Learn – learn
Engage – give to others
At both Hammond schools we are we are working together using our SMILE approach to develop individual positive coping strategies, build resilience and have fun!
